When the news was out Kefren was almost disowned by her parents. Her mother Elena and father Toni, are simply disgusted and can’t understand why she is doing this. They have begged her not to do it, but she told them ‘I’m 18 and I can do what I like with my body’.

Her uncle, Radu Raducu, told MailOnline that her parents said they would not talk to her again if she went ahead with the plan. He also added Kefren’s father earns four times the average wage of most Romanians.

Host Phillip Schofield struggled to stay calm during the segment but after knowing she didn’t have any plans, he asked her, ‘are you out of your mind?’

Kefren underwent a medical examination to ensure bidders that she was a virgin, but she didn’t take into consideration the winner’s overall health.

“I haven’t thought about that…,” she said when questioned about STDs. “Probably I will test him too. I didn’t think about it.”

The worried presenters encouraged the teen to speak with the show’s counselor after the interview to make sure that she truly understood the situation she had placed herself in.

‘It’s a tragedy that it’s come to this. I hope personally that there is some miracle that your parents don’t have to get evicted,’ Phillip said.
